How will the sample diluent affect HILIC separations?

GENERAL

HPLC UHPLC HILIC

Do not use water or buffer as sample diluent. Water is a strong solvent in HILIC mode, therefore dissolving samples in water will affect peak shape and retention time, leading to distortion and irreproducibility. It is best to use the initial mobile phase as sample solvent or a weaker solvent (for example 100% acetonitrile).
