California Supply Chains Act

The California Transparency in Supply Chains Act for 2010 (SB 657) requires manufacturers and retailers doing business in the State of California to provide consumers and partners with information regarding their business practices and efforts to address the global tragedies of slavery and human trafficking in their supply chain.

Phenomenex, Inc. (“Phenomenex”) abhors the practice of forced labor and human trafficking, and wholly supports individuals’ rights to choose employment voluntarily. Phenomenex endeavors to verify that no part of its supply chain is linked with or benefits from forced labor or human trafficking in the following ways:

• By requiring that all new suppliers guarantee that their business, manufacturing processes, and supply chain is duly free from such connections.

• With regard to its own employees, by requiring that employees sign Phenomenex House Rules stipulating that the willful violation of any law, rule, or regulation (which includes any laws concerning forced labor or human trafficking) affects that employee’s suitability for continued employment.

However, Phenomenex has no reason to believe that Phenomenex, its subsidiaries, or any part of its existing supply chain is linked with or in any way benefits from the practices of slavery or human trafficking, and therefore does not find it necessary to audit suppliers for compliance, provide specialized training to its employees, or maintain a specific internal policy on human trafficking or slavery.

Phenomenex will continue to update its policies and procedures as necessary to ensure that its supply chain is kept free of such human rights violations.
