Phenomenex Expands Novum Product Line with Novum PRO SLE

Torrance, Calif. (March 8, 2021) – Phenomenex Inc., a global leader in the research and manufacture of advanced technologies for the separation sciences, introduces the expansion of its Novum Simplified Liquid Extraction (SLE) sorbent line with Novum PRO SLE. Novum is a synthetic alternative to traditional diatomaceous earth SLE (also known as supported liquid extraction) products and provides a simplified approach to traditional liquid-liquid extraction (LLE). Novum PRO builds upon the reliability that comes with a synthetic sorbent, and now has added additional manufacturing capabilities to provide the ability to reach lower limits of detection required for specific and sensitive clinical research applications.


The synthetic sorbent used in Novum PRO SLE improves lot-to-lot reproducibility in comparison to traditional diatomaceous earth sorbents, but also follows the same 3 simplified steps in under 15 minutes as with the original Novum SLE. New manufacturing processes for Novum PRO offer a cleaner product, better background noise on sensitive MS instruments, and a reliable aqueous holding capacity to further reliability of extractions. Novum PRO SLE is ideal for low-level hormone testing or estrogens or testosterone and with the new Novum PRO formats, both MINI and MAX 96-well plates are available for high-throughput applications.
